The 2018 Annual Gathering met for its first two days at The Pennsylvania Live Steamers in Rahns, PA. The PLS campus features a multitude of gauges of ground-level track for ride-on equipment. For our use during the event you can see in the near distance the newly-reconstructed permanent Gauge 1 railway, double tracked Sunset Valley. This permanent railway was supplemented by Mike Moore's larger exhibition railway, out of view to the right, and Mike's smaller exhibition railway, off in the far distance. In addition to registrants who came from near and far (as far as Australia!) we also had an event crasher, a 15" snapping turtle, named 'Fluffy', who laid her eggs on an embankment just to the left in the above photo.
Here are some photos from the first two days:
For the third and fourth days we gathered at the home railway of Rob Kuhlman, in Stowe, Pa. The weather forecasts for both days were foreboding, but the weather gods looked upon us favorably and it never rained during our running times.
