The Pennsylvania Live Steamer campus features a multitude of gauges of track for ride-on equipment. PLS also features a newly-reconstructed permanent Gauge 1 railway, double tracked Sunset Valley. It has very generous curves, a tunnel, and three yards. We will share this track with a fair number of 45mm gauge 1:32 and 1:30 mainline trains as well. This permanent railway will be supplemented by Mike Moore's large exhibition railway, with 10' radius curves, double track (45mm and dual gauge Sunset Valley). We also hope to have another portable railway on site to provide more running opportunities for 32mm.
The second host location for 2018 will be the home railway of Rob Kuhlman, in Stowe, Pa. Stowe is adjacent to Pottstown which is along the Schuylkill River and the old Reading RR mainline about 30 miles upstream from Philadelphia, and about a 30 minute drive from the PLS campus. Rob's railway is an elevated double track kidney bean shape of roughly 100 feet in circumference. One track is Sunset Valley dual gauge; the other is gauge 0. Minimum radius is 8 feet. There are no track switches, so all equipment needs to be lifted on and off. Several dual gauge portable railways will be set up as well.
